I just wanted to let everyone know that this site has been neglected because my father had a severe stroke. I wasn't able to take photos......so no new blogs. I am planning on uploading some soon though so please check back. I will get this running again soon.

While photographing at the Missouri Botanical Gardens ealier this year, I saw this little guy. He seemed to be watching me so I took this picture when he turned toward me. I'm not sure what he is. Does anybody have any ideas?

Jaywalking

I was downtown crossing the street when I took this photo. I liked the line of street lights along the right side of the road. The picture is darker than I wanted it to be because I was in a buildings shadow but it isn't too bad. Here's a great example of one of our lovely and many dumpsters too! There is a lot of construction going on downtown with many of our old office buildings being turned into luxury lofts.

This Bud's For You

This is one of the many billboards that are on the new stadium dowtown. This one takes care of your money, your car and your drink. What more could you ask for? ;-)

Two For One

I was playing around with the camera when I took this shot. I wasn't sure how it would turn out because of the angle but I wanted to capture the blueness of the sky. I've also enjoyed experimenting with different points of view with the Arch. Many photos you see are only of the Arch but I like showing that the Arch is just one part of what STL has to offer. That's one of the reasons why I placed the Arch BEHIND this church. The church in the foreground is the oldest church West of the Mississippi River. There are still some services held there and it really is very beautiful to see.

A Walk In The Park

While at the Arch one mid afternoon I took this photo. I enjoy walking along the tree lined walk ways leading up to the Arch. The Arch sits in the middle of a small park. When this photo was taken there were only a handful of people around so it seemed like I had the park all to myself.

Lone Runner

This is a photo of a fountain downtown on Market Street but as you can see somebody has taken all of his water!! I'm not sure what his name is but I thought it was kind of funny since it looks like he is running toward one of the many food venues around there. Maybe he's going to Wendy's behind him? This is a really popular tourist area and is also where most of the downtown workers go to eat since everything is kind of close together. You see a lot of resturants at the bottom of the office buildings in this area.

The New Busch Stadium

This is a shot of the front of our new stadium. I waited forever for this billboard to register "World Series Champions" for me. The stadium is so quite now that the eason has ended but right after we won. WHEW!!!! It was LOUD here. Way to go Cardinals!!!

Wet 'N' Wild

After so many days of cold and ice I decided to post one of my favorite photos taken earlier this year at the Missouri Botanical Gardens. While exploring the gardens my sister and I came across this birdbath. We watched as bird after bird took turns bathing and playing in the water. I love this photo because the Robin in the back seems to be saying, "Hey do you mind? We're trying to take a bath here." Let me know if you enjoy this photo as much as I do!

On Top Of The...Fence?

This is a slightly different angle of our gate. I like how the top of the gate creates a line and how the ice glazes over it and drips off into icicles. My neighbor must have thought I was crazy when I was taking this photo because she was watching me through her storm door.

Fenced In

I couldn't wait to get outside with my camera the morning after the ice storm! There was a thick layer of ice on everything I looked at. You can see the ice covering the gate leading into our backyard in this photo. How do you like this shot?

Backyard Birdhouse

I took this photo of the little birdhouse in the walnut tree in our backyard the morning after our ice/snow storm. I really enjoy watching the birds that visit our backyard even though I didn't see any the day that I took this picture. Serenity

I took this photo in August while at the Missouri Botanical Gardens here in STL. There was a glass show over the summer and this red piece was part of the exhibit. I really like the way the red color reflects in the water. It is still really cold here in STL and many are still without power. I thought this would be a nice break from the cold. Tomorrow I will begin posting some of the picures that I took after we ventured out into the cold and ice.

All Lined Up

I thought this would be an interesting photo with all of the parking meters lined up together. After viewing the photo I think it would be better if all the meters were in focus. What do you think?

Bevo Mill

This is Bevo Mill which was originally the midpoint between the Anheuser-Busch Brewery and the Busch home. This is where the family would stop to change horses or, if they were really tired, to sleep for the night. Although, now it is only a restaurant that specializes mostly in German dishes. While photographing downtown I couldn't resist this purple pansie flowering in one of the many planters. We now have so much snow and ice hanging around that I thought this would be a little reminder of warmer days.

I saw this image as I was leaving the Arch and I really liked the way it looked. I thought it would make an interesting picture. What do you think? Tomorrow I'll put another up but with a slightly different viewpoint.

Beautiful Day

My sister calls this an "Ode to Fall" because it was such a beautiful fall day here in St. Louis. I decided to go downtown to take some photos because the sky was so blue. What do you think of this photo? It is of the famous "Gateway Arch" peeking out from behind one of our many buildings.
